2017 Scholarship Program – Instructors

The WGASC will be giving one scholarship to an instructor who is teaching a WGASC Member Color Guard and attending college.  Please use the on line Application Form to submit your information and check the instructor box on the application. The Scholarship will be presented at the 2017 WGASC Finals at the UCI Bren Center on Sunday, April 23, 2017.

The WGI office has been made aware of an issue with the iPhone7 regarding the software for playing music through the adapter that may cause the phone to freeze and therefore your music to stop.  Apple is aware of the issue but does not have a timeline for when an update will be made.  Because of this, WGI is encouraging color guards to utilize an alternative method for playing their performance soundtrack other than the iPhone7.  If you continue to use the iPhone7, then WGI will not be responsible for any issues you may have with your soundtrack.  If you have any questions, please email Dale Powers at dale@wgi.org.

WGASC – In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness that the WGASC has learned of the passing of Shirlee Whitcomb yesterday. Shirlee was an icon in our activity and we all owe her so much gratitude for helping to create what we know as Winter Guard. She was one of a small group of people who in 1977 met in San Francisco to create Winter Guard International. She served as as Education Director for WGI for many years and WGASC was fortunate enough to have her train many of our local judges as well. Her contributions will never be forgotten.
